Dear Michelle,
Every day I get stuck in traffic, and several times I've been late to work. What can I do to get around all of the traffic?
Sincerely,
Stuck Like Glue

Stuck Like Glue,

There are a plethora of ways to try and avoid traffic, and it all depends on which is the most feasible for you. One general suggestion would be to leave for work earlier than normal--that could help you avoid some of the morning traffic. But if that's not possible, there are other solutions. Find the bus transit schedule in your area for a more convenient way of getting to work, or use a carpooling website to be connected with other people in your area. A simple Google search of "bus transit schedule" and your city will bring up several sites that can help you find the correct busing schedule for you. www.erideshare.com is one of the top carpooling sites, and can be used to find someone in your area looking to cut down on gas costs and traffic as well.

Dear Michelle,

Which airline is the best to use?

Sincerely,

Flying Blind

Flying Blind,

The "best" airline is a very subjective matter. It depends on what you're looking for out of that company. Some companies will have better rollover miles, but will also have extra baggage fees. Some airlines don't fly in to certain cities, because they don't have hubs there. This could cause you to take layover flights into other cities. A website like airlines.findthebest.com could help you determine which airline is the best fit for you. The site allows you to view items like carry-on weight limit, cost of first bag checked, and economy seat pitch of airlines all over the country, and throughout the world.

Dear Michelle,

I've been out of a job for a few months now, and I just don't know where else to look for work. Where can I go from here?

Sincerely,

Businessman Minus the Business

Businessman Minus the Business,

Lots of companies these days are looking at sites online like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com/Jobs, or www.findtherightjob.com to find new employees. You could look into those sites for job listings in your area. Depending on how "qualified" you are (as in, how much college or skilled practice you have at your career choice), going back to college for a degree in your field or in another field with a better job market could be a viable option. Many community colleges offer night classes and online classes if regular classes do not fit your schedule. Also, while it might not be the most appealing option, the best choice right now could be to take a job that doesn't pay as much as your old job. From there, you can climb to a position that you're better suited for or that has better benefits. The best thing you can do is just keep searching and putting yoursef out there. Keep up the hard work, and stay strong. You'll catch your break eventually.

Best,

Michelle
